Water cutting has many advantages that are widely recognized. Ultra high pressure water jet cutting, as an emerging cold cutting technology, is characterized by high-energy non heat source jets for processing compared to other cutting methods. There is no thermal process during cutting, no thermal effect is produced on the cutting surface of all materials. Therefore, it can cut almost all metal non-metal materials, especially in materials that are difficult or impossible to process by various thermal cutting methods, which can better demonstrate its advantages.

1) Due to the cooling effect of water, the temperature rise of the workpiece being cut is very small, the temperature in the incision (including the cutting surface) is below 60 ℃, without generating thermal deformation heat affected zone, so it will not change the material properties of the cutting material.

2) The incision quality is high, without burrs, hanging slag, the cutting surface is vertical, flat, has good smoothness. And there is no tearing or strain hardening phenomenon, the cutting edge of the thin metal plate does not have curling phenomenon.

3) The incision width is relatively small, with a seam width of about 0.5-1mm. The sound of cutting during nesting is beneficial for improving material utilization.

4) It does not produce toxic gases dust that are harmful to human health, is particularly suitable for asbestos, wool fabrics, various fiber synthetic materials.

5) For areas where open flame operations are strictly prohibited, the processing of flammable explosive materials such as nuclear raw materials, offshore oil drilling extraction platforms, refineries, large oil gas storage tank areas, oil gas pipelines can be safely cut. Especially with the increasing application of carbon fiber, glass fiber, honeycomb structure composite materials, etc. in aerospace, new energy other fields, traditional cutting methods such as flame, laser, plasma are no longer able to complete them. Water cutting is currently recognized as one of the ideal cutting methods internationally.
